PIVOT is honored to take place at the private studios of Rambert, a world-renowned contemporary dance company. Their state-of-the-art facility in the heart of London’s South Bank reflects Rambert’s legacy of innovation, creativity and groundbreaking performances.
SCHEDULE, TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS
The intensive runs August 10–13, with a detailed schedule provided two weeks prior. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel, housing and meals. The studios are located in London’s South Bank, with easy access via the Underground and train stations. Numerous hotels, short-term rentals and dining options are available nearby. Major airports serving London include Heathrow and Gatwick.

THE EXPERIENCE
Each day at PIVOT is carefully curated by Benoit-Swan Pouffer to create a balanced experience of physical training, creative exploration and artistic dialogue.
Participants spend approximately 3-4 hours in the studio engaged in immersive movement training, followed by 3-4 hours of artist-led conversations, creative labs and industry insight sessions designed to expand their perspective as artists.
Hosted at the world-renowned studios of Rambert in London’s South Bank, PIVOT offers a rare opportunity to train, create and learn within one of the most inspiring contemporary dance environments in the world.
MORNING STUDIO SESSIONS
Movement. Technique. Creation.
Each morning begins with intensive studio work led by Benoit-Swan Pouffer and guest artists. Classes focus on developing physicality, artistry and creative confidence through a variety of contemporary movement practices.
Sessions may include:
- Contemporary technique
- Improvisation and movement research
- Partnering and collaborative work
- Choreographic exploration
- Repertory and creative process
The studio becomes a space for experimentation, risk-taking and artistic growth.
AFTERNOON ARTIST SESSIONS
Conversation. Insight. Perspective.
Afternoons shift from the physical to the intellectual and creative, offering a series of artist-led discussions and creative forums designed to deepen understanding of the professional dance world.
Topics may include:
- The creative process of choreography
- Life inside professional dance companies
- Building a sustainable artistic career
- Developing your unique artistic voice
- The intersection of movement, music and design
- Wellness and longevity for dancers
These sessions create space for meaningful dialogue between artists, faculty and participants.
EVENING STUDIO EXPERIENCES
(SELECT DAYS)
Community. Collaboration. Inspiration.
On select evenings, participants may take part in informal studio showings, artist roundtables, film screenings or open improvisation sessions. These moments offer a chance to connect with fellow artists, share work and celebrate the creative process.
