With massive, state-of-the-art studios, pro-level sound and production, and gear used on major shows like the GRAMMYs, it’s a true behind-the-scenes hub of the entertainment industry.
SCHEDULE, TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS
The intensive runs July 17-20, with a detailed schedule provided two weeks prior. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel, housing and meals. Numerous hotels, short-term rentals and dining options are available nearby. Major airports serving Los Angeles include Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).

THE EXPERIENCE
Each day at PIVOT Commercial is designed to immerse dancers in the fast-paced world of the commercial dance industry.
Led by Mandy Moore, participants spend approximately 3-4 hours in the studio training in commercial dance styles, followed by 3-4 hours of industry-focused sessions, performance labs and professional insight conversations.
Hosted in Los Angeles, the center of the commercial dance industry, PIVOT Commercial offers dancers the opportunity to train in the styles and environments that shape work in film, television, live performance and music.
MORNING STUDIO SESSIONS
Movement. Performance. Camera.
Each morning begins with high-energy studio training led by leading choreographers and industry professionals. Classes focus on the versatility, performance quality and adaptability required for the commercial dance world.
Sessions may include:
- Commercial dance technique
- Jazz, hip-hop and contemporary fusion
- Choreography for music videos and live performances
- Performance for camera
- Learning choreography quickly and performing with confidence
These sessions prepare dancers for the demands of professional commercial work, where versatility and presence are essential.
AFTERNOON ARTIST SESSIONS
Insight. Preparation. Opportunity.
Afternoons shift toward the professional realities of working in the commercial dance industry. Through conversations and practical workshops, participants gain valuable insight into navigating careers in film, television and live performance.
Topics may include:
- Audition preparation for commercial dance
- Working on film and television sets
- Dance for music artists and live tours
- Building a career in Los Angeles
- Professional etiquette on set and in rehearsal
- The role of agents and casting directors
These sessions provide participants with a clearer understanding of how the commercial dance industry operates and how to position themselves within it.
EVENING STUDIO EXPERIENCES
(SELECT DAYS)
Performance. Collaboration. Connection.
On select evenings, participants may take part in informal studio showings, artist roundtables, film screenings or open improvisation sessions. These moments offer a chance to connect with fellow artists, share work and celebrate the creative process.
